You always hear the best part of the stories: Courtesans are all about seducing, lush parties and sex. Pirates are all about raiding ships, sailor shanties and treasure hunts, right?
No one ever tells stories about how long a ship takes to get from A to B and the life on board that is just full of repetitive tasks and strict discipline of the crew to ensure their effectiveness. Life can be boring, even for pirates.
